Biography

Demo Simis was born in Marrickville, Sydney, and grew up along the picturesque coastlines of Maroubra Beach and Coogee Beach in Sydney. In 2001, he made a move to the Gold Coast, Queensland, where he's been based ever since.
Demo's professional journey began in 1978 when he embarked on a career in sales with the plumbing firm Wassell's. He later transitioned to the renowned plumbing company Watson & Crane in 1980, taking on the role of a plumbing contractor.
However, in 1983, Demo decided to embark on an international adventure. He worked on a morning show at an FM radio station in North Carolina and even had a stint training dolphins and seals in Los Angeles. Upon returning to Australia, he shifted gears, becoming a fitness instructor and exploring acting, appearing in various movies, series, and TV shows. One of his notable roles was in a music video with the Irish group "The Corrs" for their song "Wouldn't You Be Happier," which continues to be aired to this day.
From 1987 onwards, Demo focused on his DJ career. In 1988, he caught the attention of a talent scout who offered him a position on the renowned cruise ship "Fairstar." He began his stint on April 23rd, 1988, initially as a DJ before taking on roles as Sports Manager, Aqua Sports Manager, and Social Director. After two years, Demo left the "Fairstar" and delved further into acting, dancing, DJing, and professional beach volleyball.
In 1998, Demo joined the Australian-based ship, the "Norwegian Star," where he spent two years before moving to the illustrious "Pacific Sky." There, he took on the roles of "Social Snorkel Director" and later "Deputy Cruise Director." This marked only the second time in his career that he worked alongside a female Cruise Director, Shona Ballantyne, whom he would go on to marry in December 2007. In 2004, Demo and Shona were transferred to the "Pacific Sun," with Shona later moving to the "Pacific Star" and Demo taking on the role of Cruise Director.
In 2008, Demo embraced a new challenge when he was offered the opportunity to delve into stand-up comedy with the launch of the "Sit Down Comedy Club" concept. He's since been entertaining audiences on various ships including the Pacific Jewel, Pacific Sun, Pacific Dawn, Pacific Pearl, Pacific Aria, Pacific Eden, Pacific Adventure, Pacific Explorer, and Pacific Encounter, among others.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Demo enjoys spending time at the beach, soaking up the sun, watching sports, and hanging out with friends. While Demo has achieved much in his life, he's far from finished in pursuing his aspirations. He lives by the saying “ Live every day as if it were your last and some day you'll be right ”
